A municipality in Lanzarote has registered wind gusts above 90 kilometers per hour. This is reported by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) on its website.
The town that has reached 91 kilometers per hour is Tinajo, where at 1:00 p.m. the wind reached this speed. On average, the municipality has reported winds between 50 and 60 kilometers per hour since the beginning of the alert.
In the municipality of Haría, 73 kilometers per hour of maximum gust have been recorded, with an average speed of 46 kilometers per hour.
On the island of La Graciosa they reached 67 kilometers per hour maximum. On the eighth island, where the wind and waves have forced the suspension of classes, Aemet has reported that the island has had average winds of 49 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, in San Bartolomé, at the Aemet station at the Airport, maximum gusts of up to 72 kilometers per hour have been reached, also at 1:00 p.m., while the averages have been around 50 kilometers per hour.
In the municipality of Tías the maximum gust so far has been 53 kilometers per hour, with an average speed of 27 kilometers per hour.
At the Playa Blanca station, in Yaiza, Aemet has recorded 60 kilometers per hour and average speeds of 39 kilometers per hour.
Thus, in the municipality of Arrecife there is no data on wind gusts.
