Last Sunday, on the occasion of the maritime procession of Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Valterra, Pablo Antonio Díaz Delgado held an exhibition of model ships in the port area of Puerto de Naos. With the help of family and friends, from the early hours of the morning, they carried out all the assembly and thus surprised all those who came to the port area. Pablo Antonio Díaz Delgado works in his blacksmith shop installed in Puerto de Naos where he has been dedicated to artisanal work since he was very young, a profession on the verge of extinction.

Over 20 years and, in a silent way, Pablo Antonio took as a hobby to recreate some ships that in one way or another had powerfully caught his attention. And so, in this way he has come to possess a total of about forty models, all of them with perfect finishes where you can appreciate the knowledge that Pablo Antonio has with everything related to the world of ships. In the exhibition you could see authentic relics such as the ship Nuestra Señora de la Luz that for some years was in charge of supplying electricity to the island of Lanzarote. The Alisur, a ship that connected the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Prestige, of sad memory for the Galician community, the Telamón, stranded for so many years next to the Disa and where it remains today, the Salvamar boat, coastguards, aircraft carriers, tugboats, container ships, navy frigates, tuna boats and so on a long list.

Without a doubt, a very pleasant surprise for all those who walked through the place. The little ones and many young people also were interested, asking the author about how the meticulous work was carried out as well as the hours he dedicated to each of the models.
