The lawyer José Carlos Rojas Martín has requested the Board of Governors of the Lanzarote Bar Association to change the name of the institution to Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Lanzarote "to make it inclusive".

"Many steps have been taken in recent years to achieve effective equality between men and women. In this fight for gender equality, professional associations should not only be an example, but an authentic vanguard to eradicate all those elements that perpetuate such inequality," says José Carlos Rojas in a letter he has registered with the Lanzarote Bar Association.

In it, Rojas asks the Board of Governors of the Association to initiate the procedures to change the name of the same so that it is renamed Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Lanzarote.
