The center of Tías experienced a playful day full of public presence this Saturday afternoon. A crowd filled the re-opened Central Avenue of Tías, after the completion of the transformation works, to join the Mini Tapa festival, an initiative promoted by the Department of Commerce of the Tías City Council and the Tías Business Association.
Shortly after 12 noon, the dynamization program started on Central Alcalde Florencio Suárez Avenue with a program especially dedicated to children and families. The presence of the Paw Patrol delighted the children, who were also able to enjoy the attractions and inflatable mattresses specially installed for the leisure and enjoyment of the little ones in the center of Tías.
Later in the midday and afternoon hours, coinciding with the aperitif hour, a crowd filled the 14 stands installed by the restaurants in the center of Tías that have joined the celebration of the Tías Mini Tapa Festival and the eighth edition of the Tías Tapas Week.
Among those present at this Mini Tapa festival were the mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, the deputy mayor, Amado Jesús Vizcaíno, the councilor of Commerce, Nerea Santana, and the president of the Tías Business Association, Nicolás Santana.
The central avenue of Tías, in its transformation project with an investment that exceeded 1.4 million euros by the Tías City Council, this Saturday the 10th marked off a section for the celebration of this Mini Tapa Festival, in the area of the Hermitage of San Antonio and the roundabout of Calle Libertad. In this section of the avenue, the stands of the nine participating restaurants and those dedicated to the sale of beverages and business association were placed.
The Mini Tapa Week of Tías, a pioneer in the culinary offer in Lanzarote with this type of event, will continue in the coming days, until November 17, where the restaurants and bars Taberna Iguadén, Restaurante La Posada, Ca'Marcos, Capi Blas, Mesón El Pueblo, El Guachinche, Luna Nueva Gastrotapas, Pizzeria Avenida 73 and La Portuaria will offer special tapas to be tasted during this period. The shops in the downtown area of Tías also join in by making special offers during these dates. All the tapas that compete in the contest have a price of 3.50 euros, which includes the tapa or glass of wine, beer or soft drink. The participating restaurants will offer live musical concerts in their respective premises or terraces every afternoon and evening this week. During the week there will be the option of filling out coupons to participate in the draw for a free trip for two people to London.
The Tías Tapas Festival was enlivened by the charanga Los Gruñones, and the musical concerts of the groups Los 600 and Treintaytantos, who managed to make the numerous public present jump and dance at this re-opening of the Central Avenue.
The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, as well as the Councilor for Commerce, Nerea Santana, and the president of the Tías Business Association, Nicolás Santana, positively value the development of this dynamizing activity, which more than covered the objectives set, and will be the beginning of a re-launched stage to continue promoting this Avenue of Tías as a place of leisure, walking, shopping and restaurants where the urban transformation launched by the Government group of Tías (PP and CC) with its popular mayor Pancho Hernández, has been a boost for the promotion of the well-known open commercial areas in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands.
