A pneumatic-type boat has been located by Salvamar Al Nair through thuraya telephone positioning, 32 nautical miles northeast of Arrecife, island of Lanzarote.
There were 63 people traveling in the boat, including 14 women and one minor, all of sub-Saharan origin. Maritime Rescue has transferred them to Puerto Naos where they arrived at 2:30 a.m. this Sunday, March 17.
Once on land, they have been assisted by the Immediate Response Team in Emergencies (ERIE) in the specialty of Humanitarian Aid to Immigrants (AHI) of the Red Cross. After assisting them, they have evacuated one of the occupants to Molina Orosa due to different pathologies.
With this, there are five boats that have been rescued near the coasts of Lanzarote. In total, 250 people have arrived on the island.
