5th grade Primary students Adriana Páez and Chedey Guardia presented this Tuesday in the Assembly Hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote the closing of the second edition of the 'Filigrana' Program, organized by the first Island Corporation through the Youth Service directed by Councilor Patricia Pérez.

With the participation of nearly 400 5th grade Primary students, the training program has aimed to stimulate emotional and social intelligence, creativity, as well as the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age of the students.

During the event, the seven participating educational centers shared their educational experiences. The winning students from each center explained the characteristics of their projects named 'Keyers' (Santa María de los Volcanes-Las Nazarenas school), 'Bolt' (CEIP La Asomada-Mácher), '100 games in 1' (CEIP Playa Honda), 'Futuristic Canarian ball' (CEIP Virgen de los Volcanes de Tinajo), 'Solrisa' (CEIP Dr. Alfonso Spínola de Teguise), 'A thousand and one... sweets and waffles' (CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés de Tías) and 'Aquatic activities on the beach' (CEIP Capellanía de Arrecife).

Councilor Patricia Pérez congratulated all the participants for carrying out projects "that reflect the creative capacity of these young students, expressed through teamwork that has required debate, the sharing of ideas and the development of their expository skills". She also presented diplomas to the teachers of the educational centers and gifts to the students.

The councilor explained that the 'Filigrana' Program will continue to be developed in other educational centers in future courses. The event was also attended by the Councilor for Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Carmen Rosa Márquez, and was co-presented by Alicia López Covarrubias from InspiraKIDS. The final touch to an entertaining and productive morning for the participating students was provided by the Ciencia Divertida Company, with its children's show 'The Castaway'.
