The Women Victims of Violence Assistance Service attended 1,348 calls in Lanzarote in 2023

Throughout the island, the month with the most calls was November, with 130 alerts received, and February was the least, with 82 alerts.

The Women Victims of Violence Assistance Service on 1-1-2 attended 1,348 calls in Lanzarote last year. Throughout the island, the month with the most calls was November, with 130 alerts received. In the month of February, 82 calls were counted, the month in which the fewest alerts arrived on the island.

In the capital of Lanzarote, it was the area with the most calls, receiving 779 calls in Arrecife in 2023, with August being the month with the most alerts, with 86 alerts. However, the month with the fewest alerts received was in February, with a total of 48 alerts.

In the municipality of Haría, during the months of 2023, a total of 18 calls were received, with March, April, May and September being the months that did not count any. The month with the most alerts attended was in December, with four. Regarding San Bartolomé, 98 calls were made, with March, April and November being the months with the most, with 11 calls, and December and January the least, with 4 calls.

In Teguise, throughout the year, 109 alerts were carried out. August 2023 was the month with the most calls received in the municipality, with a total of 15 alerts. February was the month with the fewest calls, in which only one was counted.

In the municipality of Tías, a total of 158 calls were received, with June being the month with the most, a total of 22 alerts, and April, the month with the least, about 6 alerts. Tinajo counted a total of 29 calls in 2023, zero in April and December, while in June there were 5 alerts received, the month in which the most were attended. As for Yaiza, there were a total of 157 alerts, with July being the month with the most, being 24, and the least 6 in April.

Calls for physical violence increase

In the last 12 months, 60 calls were made reporting physical violence with sexual assault in Lanzarote. The month with the fewest calls of this type was February and April, with one call, and the most in March and November, with a total of nine calls. In the case of calls for physical violence without sexual assault, there were 1,166 alerts, highlighting August with many calls, specifically 76 alerts, and April with the least, 35 calls.

On the other hand, calls for non-physical violence were 506 during all of 2023, with February being the month with the fewest, with 28 alerts, and August the most, with 54 calls.

The interventions were focused on calls for Emergencies and Urgent matters. 876 emergencies were attended in 2023, with August being the month with the most attended, with a total of 98. May was the month with the fewest calls, specifically 57 alerts. Regarding urgent matters, there were 270 attentions in 2023, placing February as the month with the least, with 7 calls, and December and August the most, with 32 alerts.
