Mansour is an 18-year-old young man from Guinea-Conakri who arrived in a small boat to the Canary Islands and who in Malaga has just become a hero, saving a woman from the water during the heavy rains that fell this Wednesday, a feat that is circulating in images on social networks.
The boy, an asylum seeker waiting for his request to be resolved and who arrived in Spain via the Canary route, considered one of the most dangerous in the world, saw that a woman in her 40s could not finish crossing a wide street in the capital of Malaga that was full of water and had stopped without being able to move forward.
He went "very quickly, like a machine" into the wide river that the road, with three lanes, had become, and reached her to offer his hand and together continue the journey.
Crying, she replied that she could not walk, so he chose to take her in his arms and carry her, as he told Efe at the same place of the feat.
He took her to where she could continue her way. The woman, whom he did not know, thanked him for his help. He now remembers that the situation she was in was "very dangerous", so he took her out of there.
He went out to help
It all started because Mansour saw, from the window of the house where he lives, the Police working due to the complications caused by the intense rainfall and decided to go and help them. Noticing the woman's situation, who was crying and unable to walk, he went to her.
After saving her, he wanted to continue helping the Police and collaborate in cleaning the neighbors' houses where the mud had entered.
He remembers that in his country when it rains a lot, the houses also fill with mud and they go out to help those who need it, so when he saw that in Malaga there were many people who needed support, he launched himself into that mission.
Gratitude hug
The neighbors now recognize his courage. "Can I give you a hug?", one of them asked Mansour and their bodies merged. "Congratulations, you are a good person", he said to the young man and left.
The mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, is also going to congratulate him for his action.
The young man, who arrived irregularly in the Canary Islands after passing through Senegal, has been welcomed by the Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid (CEAR) for a year, requested international protection and this entity offers him training such as languages in search of his social integration.
"Brother, you are the best" or "how great, brother" are the comments that are heard in the video that testifies to the heroism of this boy in Héroe De Sostoa street, a road dedicated to an officer of the Spanish Navy for his participation in a battle. Mansour's was the struggle to save that woman and he won.
