The young Yuliza Antonia Pérez did not die in the car as some media initially claimed, as stated by the Chief Superintendent of Police of the Canary Islands, Narciso Ortega, who has not ruled out that the homicide occurred in her own home.

The investigation, from the first moment, pointed towards the victim's environment and ruled out several suspects, except for the mother's sentimental partner, a Portuguese bricklayer. Several contradictions placed him as the main suspect.

This Thursday, the young woman's stepfather, Antonio Ferreira Machado, testified before court number seven of Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of the crime.

Based on the evidence found, the forensic police deduced that the perpetrator of the crime must have known the victim and be stronger than her. Furthermore, he had access to the home, which allowed him to surprise the victim and know the terrain in general and the landfill in particular where Yuliza was found. The investigation also deduced that he had enough time to transport the body and, finally, acted motivated by an obsession that could have led to the crime.
