Woman rescued after accident at Papagayo Beach

A woman had to be rescued this Tuesday, February 3, on Papagayo Beach, in Playa Blanca, after suffering a fall that caused her a serious ankle injury.

According to the Consortium of Security and Emergencies, the alert was received at 15:21 hours through the CECOES, warning of the fall of a woman who had broken her ankle, while the ambulance had not yet been able to access the site. Given the situation, the Romeo 2 resource was activated, which moved to the area

Upon the arrival of the personnel, Local Police officers were already at the scene. The affected person presented intense pain in the left ankle, with swelling and a visible deformity, remaining on the beach awaiting assistance.

Emergency services proceeded to immobilize the ankle with a splint and, subsequently, evacuated the woman on a rescue stretcher to the basic ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC). The health technicians took charge of her care and carried out her transfer to the hospital for a more exhaustive medical evaluation.
