The Civil Guard of Tías, in coordination with the Civil Guard of Corralejo and the Civil Guard of Gran Tarajal, arrested on June 21 two people, both of foreign nationality and initials S.M., and M.E.H., for being the alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation committed during the early hours of April 17 in a nightclub in the town of Corralejo, municipality of La Oliva.

Complaint and transfer of proceedings

The events occurred on April 17 in a well-known leisure venue in Corralejo, where the alleged perpetrators, habitual residents of the Island of Lanzarote, traveled by sea to Fuerteventura. The modus operandi was based on one of them distracting the victim, while the second took advantage to steal valuables unnoticed, but in this case the victim realized the theft of his belongings and, when trying to prevent it, was hit and assaulted by the alleged perpetrators who quickly left the premises taking with them the wallet containing personal documentation and cash (80 euros).

This criminal offense was reported on April 21 at the Civil Guard facilities in Gran Tarajal, Fuerteventura, which is why the respective police proceedings were carried out and immediately sent to the Main Post of the Civil Guard of Corralejo, for the continuation of the investigation and corresponding clarification of the facts.

Investigation and arrest

Subsequently, the members of the investigation area of the Main Post of Corralejo carried out the pertinent police investigations based on the data provided in the complaint, as well as the statement of several eyewitnesses, which allowed to locate the alleged perpetrators as residents of the island of Lanzarote.

Therefore, and based on the principle of collaboration and police coordination, the Civil Guard of Tías carried out the corresponding police investigations that resulted in the identification and location of the alleged perpetrators.

Finally, the agents of the investigation area of Tías proceeded to arrest two people for being the alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with force, one of them having a police record for similar events, being placed at the disposal of the corresponding court in charge of Puerto del Rosario, as it is the judicial district where the event occurred.
