The Civil Guard arrested on January 10 and 11, in different services, two people for separate crimes of injury and against public health in the commercial area of Limones street in Playa Blanca. In addition, since last November 20, the Civil Guard has reported 20 administrative infractions to the Citizen Security Law for consumption and possession of toxic drugs on the same road.
The first of the arrests was that of a foreign citizen, with the initials Y.E., as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of injury "by hitting another person and causing a gap in the face requiring medical attention." The arrested, according to the Civil Guard, has police records of the same nature.
The other arrest was that of a 25-year-old young man, with the initials D.C.M and also with a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health after being caught selling marijuana on public roads.
Reinforcement of surveillance
The Civil Guard explains that it reinforced surveillance in the area as a result of various reports from both businesses and citizens, to eliminate the sale and consumption of narcotic substances on the street, having processed 20 administrative complaints since November for infractions of the article of the Organic Law on the protection of citizen security, with agents intervening different types of drugs such as cocaine, marijuana and hashish.
Both the complaints and the seized narcotic substances have been sent to the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, the body in charge of processing the corresponding sanctioning files in accordance with the Organic Law of Common Administrative Procedure, with offenders facing possible financial fines exceeding 601 euros. The services were carried out by agents from the Yaiza Main Post and the GIR of Lanzarote
