Three young men, aged 29, 23 and 17, were surprised this Sunday by agents of the Yaiza Local Police inside an uninhabited house in the Valparaíso urbanization of Playa Blanca when, around 7:30 p.m., they were "stealing faucets, locks, hinges, plugs, a sink and other objects from the property."
According to the City Council, "a call alerted the Local Police to the presence of three subjects jumping over the enclosure wall of said urbanization, being surprised by the agents inside one of the properties." The Local Police intercepted the young men when they tried to escape through a window, proceeding to their identification and arrest for an alleged crime of robbery with force.
The three detainees said they were friends and all of them reside in Lanzarote, although not in the municipality of Yaiza. In addition to the objects they were taking from that house, they also had others stored in a car parked near the urbanization. There, the Police also found tools to commit the robbery.
The Yaiza Local Police carried out the first investigations and handed over the detainees to the Civil Guard, so that they were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
