Agents of the Local Police of Arrecife have rescued on Wednesday morning on the coasts of the capital of Lanzarote the crew of a sailboat that was sailing near the shore.
Apparently, three people were on board the vessel, who were assisted by Local Police officers and were in apparent good health after the boat they were traveling in sank.
According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES), as reported to La Voz, the sailboat, a six-meter vessel with a fiberglass hull, capsized near El Cable beach. Initial sources attribute the cause of the shipwreck to the vessel being hit by a wave.
It should be remembered that the island has been on high alert for adverse coastal phenomena for a week.
A Maritime Rescue vessel has also been dispatched to the area.
