Three people have been injured after an accident in Puerto del Carmen. According to reports from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the events took place on Friday night on the LZ-40, near the gas station in the direction of the tourist town of Tías.
Alerted by the Emergency Coordination Center, firefighters from the Emergency Consortium and volunteer firefighters from Lanzarote (Boluntis) went to the LZ-40 to assist the passengers of two cars that had suffered a head-on collision.
Upon arrival, they found that the driver of one of the vehicles had gotten out on his own and was being attended to by the health services. Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle was sitting in the seat with her feet on the asphalt. The on-call paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service who traveled to the scene assessed her and helped her lie down on the stretcher. Meanwhile, the Consortium firefighters removed a third person from the vehicle.
Boluntis collaborated with the paramedics in the care of two injured people and carried out a spill control and disconnection of batteries in conjunction with Consortium firefighters. Once the injured were evacuated, the Consortium firefighters collaborated in the removal of the vehicles and in the collection of plastic debris from them. The road service took charge of cleaning the road.
Firefighters from the Consortium, volunteer firefighters from Lanzarote, an advanced life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, and another basic life support ambulance were transferred to the scene. In addition to the Civil Guard, Local Police and Civil Protection of Tías.
