Three people have been arrested this Monday in an important police operation carried out by the Civil Guard and the Local Police in two complexes in Costa Teguise illegally occupied, specifically in the Senator apartments and in others located on La Rosa street, next to Playa Bastián. In addition, as confirmed to La Voz from the Benemérita, 31 complaints have been filed against the people who occupy these apartments.
The operation, in which 32 agents from the Local Police and different units of the Civil Guard have participated, has its origin in the Security Board that the City Council held last week, in which the mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, transmitted to the State Security Forces his concern about the illegal occupation of homes in the tourist town after complaints from numerous residents.
Regarding the three detainees, one of them has been arrested in the Senator apartments and the other two in the apartments located on La Rosa street. According to sources from the Benemérita, one arrest has occurred based on the Immigration Law, for being in an irregular situation in Spain, with the detainee being placed at the disposal of the National Police. The other two people have been arrested for resistance and disobedience to authority.
In the operation, a total of 32 people have been identified, including a minor of age to be in the institute and who was not, notifying Social Services. 28 complaints have also been filed for illegal occupation of homes in accordance with the Citizen Security Law, and another three for violating the Animal Protection Law for having dogs without a microchip.
