Agents of the National Police Force have proceeded to arrest three individuals who committed a shooting motivated by a settling of accounts that occurred last Sunday, October 9, in the Sansofé neighborhood of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as a result of which two minors were injured by firearms in the area.
The detainees have been identified as David M.J, 27 years old, Saúl M.J., 24 years old, and Alejandro M.R., 23 years old, all of whom have several police records, one of them being a user of a false entity with which he has been arrested on several occasions.
The arrest occurred on October 11 by agents of the Judicial Police of the Central District Police Station, after a quick investigation that led them to identify the perpetrators of the shooting as natives of the town of Telde. They had traveled armed to the Sansofé area to avenge the physical assault that apparently one of them had suffered days before by residents of this neighborhood.
As a result, they appeared in front of the aggressors' house carrying a sawed-off shotgun and, without considering the presence of the minors who were playing in the vicinity, proceeded to fire 2 shots, as a result of which two minors, 14 and 17 years old, who were there and had no relation to the events, were injured in the leg and had to be treated in different hospitals for the injuries suffered. Once the attack was carried out, the now detainees fled in a white Toyota that had been hidden on the outskirts of the neighborhood to facilitate their escape without being recognized.
Alerted by such a violent event, officials from the Central District Police Station established a special device aimed at identifying and arresting the perpetrators of this armed attack. Thus, a few hours later, they were identified as residents of Telde and once their home was located, a static device was set up at the door of their home throughout the night, proceeding to their arrest at the moment when they left their home first thing in the morning, seizing the sawed-off shotgun they used to commit the acts.
