They pretend to belong to the Red Cross to access homes and sell bibliographic material

Editorial staff.- In the last week, citizens from various parts of Arrecife have informed the Spanish Red Cross of the alleged fraudulent use of the name of this Institution in order to access homes and sell bibliographic material. According to these sources, the author or authors, once inside, ask the person if they are alone and ask them for water, while continuing with their explanation.

Faced with this situation, the Spanish Red Cross has been forced to notify the National Police Corps of the event so that they can intervene for the appropriate purposes, while also disseminating it to the population so that, as far as possible, they can help combat what could be a crime. The Spanish Red Cross regrets that actions such as these may damage the image that this humanitarian organization has forged on the Island for more than three decades, but asks citizens to continue trusting in its campaigns that it carries out legally and rigorously in order to promote the Gold Draw and the recruitment of volunteers and members.

The NGO asks citizens for their collaboration and that, if they find themselves in a situation like these and suspect that it may be a fraud, they should report it as quickly as possible to the Red Cross (928.81.48.66) or to the National Police Corps (928.81.77.47).
