The world of Lanzarote football mourns the death of Chalo García

Chalo García, who has died after a long illness, was linked to the Club Deportivo Orientación Marítima and the Unión Deportiva Lanzarote

The Lanzarote football coach Marcial García Camacho, popularly known as Chalo García, has died this Saturday morning in Lanzarote. This has been confirmed by the Unión Deportiva Lanzarote on social networks.

The club describes García, who coached the Benjamín B team of UD Lanzarote, as a "person who had earned the affection of Lanzarote football, transmitting his values to the youngest and collaborating in everything that was necessary", according to the team in a statement.

The president of UD Lanzarote, Juan Carlos Albuixech, has expressed his deepest condolences for the death of Chalo, and in turn wishes to convey his condolences to his family, friends and loved ones in these difficult times.

Likewise, Chalo García, who has died after a long illness, was also linked to the Club Deportivo Orientación Marítima.

Meanwhile, the councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote Jacobo Medina has dedicated a publication to Chalo Garcia on his social networks: "In the Altavista neighborhood we shared laughter, unforgettable moments and his great passion for football. He was the soul of the Famara football tournaments and always had a smile for everyone."
