The victim of the illegal detention was abandoned shortly after in La Asomada after being robbed of everything he was carrying.

The three people arrested for the illegal detention of a man in Arrecife were brought before the court this Thursday, after 72 hours of their arrest, while the National Police continues to investigate the details of this event.

According to sources from the investigation confirmed to La Voz, shortly after forcing the victim into their car in the heart of Arrecife, the assailants took everything he had on him and ended up abandoning him completely naked in an open field in the town of La Asomada, belonging to the municipality of Tías.

A witness alerted the Civil Guard shortly before 1 a.m. and several agents came to assist the victim, who told them what had happened. According to sources from this body, he is a foreign citizen who is not registered as a resident in Lanzarote.

Next, the Civil Guard agents contacted the National Police, who are in charge of this investigation and have made three arrests so far. Although several possible motives for this event have been considered, including that it could be a drug issue, other police sources suggest that the "kidnappers" may have even made a "mistake" in choosing their victim, since he did not have great purchasing power nor is there any record of him having any connection with the detainees.

The same sources indicate that the arrested individuals already had police records and may have problems with drugs.
