The trial against the councilor of Somos Lanzarote in Teguise, Ayoze Callero, has finally been postponed to next Friday. The councilor had been summoned this Wednesday to answer for the accident that took place two days ago in Tinajo, when he collided with other vehicles and against the wall of a house, later testing positive for the breathalyzer test. However, although a summary trial was scheduled to be held this Wednesday, it has finally had to be delayed pending expert evidence.

This was decided by the head of the Court of Instruction Number 2 of Arrecife, Jerónimo Alonso, who is in charge of this case. Among the documentation, the expert reports of the damages caused in the accident would be missing, which should also be assessed in the trial and when issuing a sentence.

The accident took place on Tinguatón street in Tinajo, at around 10:30 p.m. last Monday. Callero was driving a van and collided at least with a parked vehicle and with the facade of a house, which suffered various damages. Although he did not require medical assistance, the intervention of the firefighters was necessary to remove the vehicle's battery and clean the street to restore traffic. The Local Police also came to the scene, who confirmed that the councilor tested positive for the breathalyzer test.
