Agents of the National Police have arrested in Arrecife J.J.S.M., 38 years old, with numerous records for crimes against property, and J.A.O.U., 47 years old, with police records, as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of theft of vehicle use and reckless driving. "They circulated at all times in the opposite direction to the traffic, seriously endangering the lives of drivers and pedestrians," they point out in a press release.

The events unfolded when agents patrolling the streets of Arrecife observed a vehicle running a stop sign. When trying to stop the occupants, they fled through the streets of the capital of Lanzarote, being chased by several police cars. According to the Police, "the driver of the car drove at all times in the opposite direction to the traffic to evade the police chase, endangering the lives of other drivers and pedestrians."

Due to the high speed at which it was traveling, the vehicle ended up colliding with another that was parked, thus initiating a chase on foot, which ended with the arrest of these two people.
