National Police agents have arrested a 29-year-old man in Arrecife, with numerous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of several crimes against property. Along with him, another man and a woman, aged 48 and 34, also with numerous police records, have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with force.
The main detainee was being sought by the National Police for the commission of 13 criminal acts, including burglaries in homes and inside establishments, vehicle thefts, petty thefts, threats and fire damage. He has 25 police records, almost all for events of a similar nature.
The Police explain that last September a series of robberies with force took place in Arrecife, both in homes and in establishments, which led to the initiation of an investigation by the Judicial Police unit of the National Police Station of Arrecife.
As a result of an investigation carried out by the agents, they were able to determine that "a large part of these events had been committed by the same author".
In one of these illicit acts, the investigated allegedly stole a van, with which he committed a new robbery with force and which later appeared burned in a vacant lot in the Argana Alta neighborhood. In this regard, the police force emphasizes that with him there are already seven detainees as alleged perpetrators of arson in the municipality of Arrecife so far this year.
The crimes attributed to him are robbery with force, vehicle theft, petty theft, threats, damages and resistance/disobedience. Regarding the other two detainees, the Police consider that they participated in some of the robberies.
The arrested were located and detained in the capital of Lanzarote and placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, with the Investigating Court Number 1 of Arrecife decreeing the immediate imprisonment of the main defendant.
