The mother who alerted 112 on Tuesday that strangers had suggested her minor daughter get into a van in Costa Teguise has already filed a complaint with the Civil Guard. This body registered the complaint throughout Wednesday and has opened an investigation to clarify these facts.
From the Civil Guard they have explained to La Voz that these are the facts that are denounced and not an attempted kidnapping or abduction. In the latter case, it would imply a request for financial ransom.
Until Wednesday afternoon, no complaint had been filed for these events with the Civil Guard or the Teguise Local Police. Despite this, the municipal agents had carried out an action and went to the area, but they did not see the van or anything that made them suspicious.
The 112 received this call from a mother on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. In it, she assured that her daughter had been invited to get into a vehicle, but that she refused. According to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, the minor did not suffer any damage and there was not even a struggle.
Upon receiving this alert, 112 passed the call to the Civil Guard liaison, who is in the Coordinating Center room so that he could manage this matter. The mother informed him that she intended to report the events to the Teguise Local Police, although finally it was the Civil Guard who registered this complaint.
