Last weekend, the Local Police of Tías removed a total of 44 electric scooters from the public roads of Puerto del Carmen, which add to the 93 already removed in previous days and which are being stored in the municipal depot.
According to the City Council, electric scooters, considered Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV), "were occupying public space irregularly, violating the Regulatory Ordinance for the Use and Occupation of Municipal Public Domain", in addition to the Public Health Law and the decree of measures against the coronavirus.
The head of the Local Police of Tías, Antonio Jesús Rodríguez, explains that these vehicles "irregularly occupy the public spaces of the municipality, and, in addition, their manipulation by different people poses a risk of spreading any contagious disease such as Covid-19".
On the other hand, the Police also filed eight complaints last weekend for failing to comply with the rules for using masks.
