The police investigation of the "arson" in an abandoned house occupied by drug addicts on Hierro Street in Arrecife, in which two men and a woman were seriously injured, is considering "revenge" as the main hypothesis of the event. According to police sources confirmed to La Voz de Lanzarote, they have no doubt that the perpetrators of the events are the two people, from the same environment in which the events occurred, detained by the National Police. The two detainees, who allegedly started the fire using gasoline, could face charges of arson, damage and serious injuries that could even lead, depending on the evolution, to a crime of attempted homicide or murder.
So far, statements have been taken from some of the witnesses who were in the house at the time of the incident. The minor, a 17-year-old male, who was slightly injured and remains in the José Molina Orosa Hospital, has also been located. Efforts in this regard are focused on getting the minor to be with his mother's family as soon as possible, the woman also injured in the fire. The maternal family resides in Tenerife. The Police are also trying to get the young man to declare what happened in the house on Hierro Street.
Regarding the condition of the other two injured, the couple made up of the 52-year-old woman and the 26-year-old man, they were transferred on Wednesday night to the Burn Unit of the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville from the José Molina Orosa hospital center, according to the newspaper La Provincia. The burns of the man and woman were, from the first moment, more serious. In fact, police sources have acknowledged that they had not been able to take their statements due to the state they were in.
