The Criminal Court number 1 of Arrecife is scheduled to hold this Thursday, starting at 12:10 p.m., the oral hearing of the trial against Enrique Tavío, who worked as a delegate in Lanzarote for the company Seguridad Integral Canaria in July 2009, and for whom the Prosecutor's Office is requesting three years in prison as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force.

The accused, according to the Prosecutor's Office account, entered at night a armored van owned by the company in which he worked, and which was in the garage of said company. He accessed the interior by forcing the window with a piece of pipe and once inside he used the security key, which he had previously stolen from the offices, and seized two bags of money containing 1.6 million euros that belonged to BBVA.

The following morning, according to the prosecutor's account, the accused went to Mohamed Boutamalt's house, where he had the consent of the latter and handed him the bags, which he hid in another house on León y Castillo street in Arrecife. The Prosecutor's Office acknowledges that the accused did not cause any damage and finally, thanks to the police investigation, all the money could be recovered, except for 4,020 euros.

The Prosecutor's Office is asking Boutamalt for one year in prison for concealment and both for compensation to the bank for the amount not recovered.
