Agents of the Traffic Detachment have proceeded, on the 6th of this month, to arrest a person, with initials R.H.N. of Spanish nationality and resident of the island of Lanzarote, as the alleged perpetrator of two crimes, one against road safety and another for false accusation.
The events occurred on the aforementioned day, when members of the Guardia Civil, carrying out road surveillance work between the towns of La Santa and La Santa Sport, stopped a vehicle that was circulating at high speed.
The driver of the vehicle, ignoring the indications of the agents, continued driving at high speed, leaving the scene and fleeing.
Immediately afterwards, the agents chased the vehicle, finally being able to reach it, but verifying how the driver had fled, leaving the car in question open at the scene of the events, and his personal documentation abandoned.
At that moment, the Civil Guard initiated a device to locate said person, who was later located in the premises of the Local Police of the municipality of Tinajo, where he was filing a complaint for the theft of the vehicle involved in the events.
Therefore, R.H.N., who was recognized by the acting agents as the driver of the vehicle that fled, was arrested for the crimes of false accusation and for driving a vehicle without the corresponding driving license.
The detainee has been placed at the judicial disposal of the corresponding Court in guard duty of the town of Arrecife.
