The Civil Guard continues the investigations into the case of the 77-year-old man who died last Thursday, January 7, in Lanzarote. The body was found by one of his sons who showed up at his home that morning to bring him breakfast, since his father lived alone in an old house in the town of Uga, according to the note from the Armed Institute.

At first, when the son arrived at the house, he found the back door open, which made him suspect that something had happened inside, accessing the bedroom and due to the position of the body and the hours that had passed face down, it made him assume that his father had been hit by unknown perpetrators when they entered to steal.

After a first ocular inspection inside the home, the Civil Guard verifies that the deceased does not show any injuries or defensive signs, ruling out at all times that it was a homicide, so the investigation is redirected to the fact that the reasons for the death are due to natural causes, later confirmed by the autopsy.

Continuing with the investigation, the Civil Guard is located in a safe that was in the deceased's bedroom, finding a considerable amount of cash and various documents, it is also observed that the disorder of the house is a product of the normal daily life of the person, who lives alone, so different hypotheses remain open, ruling out robbery with violence.

After carrying out all the steps taken by the Civil Guard to clarify the facts, the investigation regarding the possible homicide is closed and continuing to clarify a possible robbery.
