Lionel Morales was admitted to this hospital after he fainted due to heat stroke during a test in the Spanish Paratriathlon Championship, held in Águilas, in Murcia. The incident occurred when there was one kilometer left to the finish line.
The Lanzarote triathlete was first treated by the medical services covering the test. The paramedics verified that he did not react to cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers and transferred him in a Red Cross ambulance to the hospital.
The doctors who treated the athlete decided to induce him into a coma to try to prevent vital signs from suffering any type of sequelae. Doctors say that Morales is completely out of danger.
