In the early hours of this Tuesday, at 01:35 hours, a Civil Guard patrol while carrying out a night surveillance service observed how the entrance door of the "Tropicana" Restaurant located on Avenida de Las Playas de Puerto del Carmen (Tías) was dislodged.
The agents got out of the vehicle approaching the establishment and it was then that they saw that the door had been forced and someone had placed a piece of furniture inside and behind the door to give the appearance of normality.
Given the clear evidence that a robbery was being committed, the civil guards entered the premises surprising the thief "in fraganti", who was immediately arrested, thus preventing him from consummating the criminal act.
Once transferred to the official premises, the offender was identified as J.D.H., 40 years old, of German nationality and without known address.
On the morning of today, Tuesday, the detainee was taken to the Court of Instruction Number Seven of Arrecife in order to hold a Speedy Trial for the criminal responsibilities incurred by the accused.
