Fires do not cease in the capital of Lanzarote. Firefighters have had to move to different locations in Arrecife this Sunday to put out several fires, which affected a vehicle, a container and an appliance in a house.

Alerted by the CECOES around 2:25 p.m., the Emergency Consortium moved to Vicente Street to extinguish the fire of a container with nearby vehicles. Upon arrival, they found that the organic waste container had a bag inside that was on fire, so they proceeded to apply water and extinguish the fire without major inconveniences. The container was not affected and remained operational.

Hours later, around 8:45 p.m., firefighters received a second notice, this time for the smoke coming from a roof of a building on Pérez Galdós Street. Specifically, the fire came from a washing machine that was connected to the electricity and a water intake. Both the top cover of the appliance, as well as the clothes on top of it were already burned, since the neighbors had taken care of putting out the fire with a powder extinguisher before the arrival of the firefighters.

The troops were in charge of cutting off the electricity and water to the house, as well as the affected washing machine and took it outside to finish cooling it with a CO2 extinguisher. Finally, they closed the stopcock of the appliance and restored the water and electricity and ended the service.

However, the night was far from over for the Consortium, as they received a third notice of vehicle fire with risk of spreading to nearby vehicles around 11:49 p.m. on Norte Street in Arrecife. Once at the scene, the firefighters found that the left rear of the car was on fire, so they began the extinction, first with water to control the fire and then with foam.

During the extinction work, one of the firefighters commented that he had seen a stone inside the vehicle, specifically in the most affected part, so they transferred all the information to the Local Police, who also appeared in the rest of the fires that took place last Sunday.
