The Civil Guard of Tías, investigated last August 29 two men aged 60 and 28 years, with police records, for a crime against property and another of theft of fish to have surprised them when transporting in an SUV several basins with 90 kilos of sea bass allegedly stolen from the fish farm in Playa Quemada. It so happens that the two men had already committed the same crime last year. In addition, the driver of the vehicle has been reported for a crime against traffic safety.

The Civil Guard became aware last August 29 through the notice of the guard of the facilities, when observing a suspicious vehicle parked in the vicinity of Playa Quemada, likely to be stealing fish from the fish farm.

On the other hand, the person in charge of the company filed a complaint the same day they were surprised, in addition to another complaint from the guard of the facilities for similar events that occurred in that same month, filed in the Main Post of Tías.

Due to the indications and evidence gathered on the existence of a vehicle related to an illegal fish capture, the agents of the Main Post of Tías on the part of the couple in service of the aforementioned unit deploy a location device following the instructions of the guard of the facilities.

Therefore, as a result of the rapid response by the components of the Civil Guard upon arriving at the area, they verify the facts and manage to intercept the vehicle, being an SUV that was circulating leaving the town of Playa Quemada. The agents proceeded to stop the vehicle and identify the two occupants of the car in question, in addition, they were able to verify that the driver of the same lacked a driver's license.

In the vehicle they locate inside several effects among which are a trammel net, an inflation pump, flashlights, a small inflatable boat with two oars, an outboard motor and several basins containing approximately 90 kilos of Sea Bass of very similar weight and size, all without complying with the corresponding hygienic-sanitary conditions.

The 90 kilos of fish seized had to be destroyed as they had been handled by outsiders, and without complying with the hygienic-sanitary regulations for the transfer and conservation of the specimens.

Finally, the agents of the Civil Guard investigated the two occupants of the vehicle as alleged perpetrators of a crime of theft, (facts that both had already committed previously in the same place, and for which they were investigated in the summer of 2021), and in turn the driver for a crime against traffic safety, being identified driving without the relevant authorization.

The proceedings instructed for this purpose were sent to the Court in Functions of Guard of Arrecife.
