The intense rains that fell this Saturday in Lanzarote left flooded streets, traffic jams and numerous inconveniences in their wake, especially in Arrecife and Costa Teguise, where the water collapsed sewers and flooded basements and garages. However, amidst so much complication, there was also room for humor.
In a large puddle formed in the area of the Las Cabreras gavias before reaching Nazaret, two people decided to take advantage of the situation: they appeared with a boat and some oars to "navigate" through the accumulated water. The improvised "boat ride" between Tahíche and Nazaret will remain as one of the most curious images of this storm.
Intense rainfall and recurring problems
According to meteorological data, the rains were especially heavy in the center and northeast of Lanzarote, where significant accumulations were recorded in a short time. Many residents once again suffered the same old problems: flooding in homes, closed roads and affected businesses.
