Neighbors of Argana Alta have enabled a bank account to financially help the family that lost their home in a fire unleashed on Christmas Eve. The president of the neighborhood association, Andrés Medina, has announced that with this initiative they intend to financially support this family in their expenses to travel to the Doctor Negrín Hospital, in Gran Canaria, where the father is admitted, and to the Virgen del Rocío, in Seville, where one of the 32-year-old sons remains.
To do this, they have spoken with the family who has provided an account number at La Caixa. The number is 2100 4359 110100368360. In addition, collection boxes have been installed in several cafes and bars in the Argana Alta neighborhood so that neighbors can make their contributions.
With this money, the neighbors also intend that the family can rebuild their home, which was completely destroyed by the fire. "Everything was burned, the furniture and absolutely everything," said Andrés Medina.
And the tragedy befell this humble family, whose members are unemployed. The father was the only one who worked and, in addition, the contract was ending this month, according to Medina.
Luckily, the woman victim of this fire, who was transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, has already been discharged, according to the Councilor for Social Services of the Arrecife City Council, Carmen Sáez. The councilor has assured that the City Council is "looking for all possible help to support this family in these difficult times."
In addition, the causes of this fire are beginning to clear up and it is most likely that it was caused by an electrical spark that broke out in a power strip that was in the Argana Alta home.
