The Local Police of Arrecife arrested last Friday, around 3 p.m., a man identified as M.L., 26 years old and from Morocco, against whom there was a judicial restraining order. According to the agents, who went to the area after receiving a call alerting them to the events, the detainee was "violently banging" on the door of his ex-partner's house.
On the other hand, also during this weekend, several drivers were arrested who tested positive in the various alcohol tests carried out. Thus, last Saturday, July 16, at 9:30 p.m., after a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Menéndez Pelayo and Blasco Ibáñez streets, in which three vehicles were involved, the driver who caused the accident was arrested, identified as J.A.L, 43 years old and from Argentina, who presented clear symptoms of intoxication, doubling the permitted blood alcohol level after the relevant test was carried out.
For his part, the driver of the rammed vehicle was injured of a less serious nature and had to be transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital, where he was admitted.
The police officers also arrested three other drivers this same Saturday, two of whom tripled the permitted alcohol level, identified as J.A.F.M, 45 years old and from Arrecife, and O.M.C.C., 46 years old and from Teguise.
The third driver arrested was caught around 5:30 in the morning driving in the opposite direction to that allowed and, after carrying out the corresponding alcohol tests, tested positive. Likewise, this same individual was charged with another crime for driving after having been deprived, as a precautionary measure by the judge, of his driving license.
Finally, last Friday, around 5:15 p.m., a 41-year-old man from Colombia was also arrested and placed at the disposal of the court for driving without the corresponding driving license.
