A man of Chinese nationality has been arrested late Thursday afternoon, after allegedly hitting his wife and son inside a "mini-market" in Arrecife. A person who was in the adjacent premises was the one who alerted the National Police.

According to La Voz, this man heard the screams and when he looked into the store, he saw how even the child, about 10 years old, had blood. He immediately called the National Police, but when the agents arrived, the alleged aggressor had fled.

Finally, the National Police located him in a bar on the outskirts of Arrecife and proceeded to arrest him, now awaiting to be brought to justice.

Apparently, the woman and the child did not require medical assistance. At least, the Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies 112 has confirmed to La Voz that the presence of an ambulance in the area was not required.
