The Roca Team of the Command of the Civil Guard of Las Palmas, together with the Investigation Area of the Main Post of Costa Teguise, have proceeded to investigate four people as alleged perpetrators of a continued crime of robbery with force in telephone dismantling.
The meticulous investigation carried out by the Roca Team of the Civil Guard in the province of Las Palmas has culminated in the detection of a significant subtraction of copper, allegedly perpetrated by subcontracted operators in telephone laying works in Lanzarote.
The operation was triggered after the complaint filed on November 26, 2024 by two subcontractors of a telephone company, in which they reported the spoilage of approximately 5,616.507 kilograms of copper, stolen from the works themselves. The valuation of this material amounts to the considerable sum of 18,253.65 euros.
Thanks to the exhaustive control of sales made in the various recovery companies in the province, the agents of the Roca Team managed to identify and seize 2,496 kilograms of copper that had been illegally marketed by the operators involved. These individuals, taking advantage of their job position, allegedly took advantage of the dismantling work to steal the material.
