Firefighters extinguished two fires this Monday in two buildings in Lanzarote. The first fire was in an abandoned building in Arrecife and the second, a room in a tourist complex in Playa Blanca.

In the first service, the emergency teams arrived at the area at approximately 12.13 hours to extinguish the fire in Brasilia Street, in the capital of Lanzarote. The fire was located in the basement of the building, from which several people were leaving at that moment. None of them were injured.

Immediately afterwards, once it was verified that there was no one inside, the firefighters began extinguishing with water and later with foam. To finish, the municipal services proceeded to fence the work to avoid access to it, as reported by the Arrecife City Council.

In addition, agents of the Local Police also moved to the area.

A fire outbreak in Playa Blanca

The second fire, which was an outbreak, originated in a machine room of a tourist complex in the tourist town of Playa Blanca.

The firefighters approached the area at approximately 9:28 p.m., at which time they verified that there were no flames or smoke in the emergency generator room, only that the fire protection system had been activated.

Immediately, they proceeded to disconnect the sound of the fire alarm and give the indications so that it could be reconnected.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, it was the Local Police who were in charge of extinguishing the flames with a powder extinguisher before the arrival of the firefighters.
