Emergency services intervened this Friday in Arrecife to assist a resident with a hip fracture after suffering a fall in his home.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the Valterra neighborhood of the capital of Lanzarote when the person fell in their home.

The Security and Emergency Consortium reported that the narrowness of the building's staircase made coordination necessary between personnel from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), the Local Police, and the firefighters. The patient was placed on a scissor stretcher and vacuum mattress, and was able to be evacuated via the staircase of the home.

The firefighters' aerial ladder could not be used, as there were no operational windows that allowed access. Finally, the affected individual was transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
