A Civil Guard officer from San Bartolomé was found dead this Sunday in an apartment in a tourist complex in Puerto del Carmen.
According to sources close to La Voz, everything points to it being a suicide.
The officer, 43 years old, was a native of Gran Canaria but had been stationed in Lanzarote for many years. Specifically, he joined the Civil Guard in 2006 and had been serving at the San Bartolomé barracks since 2008.
From the Civil Guard Command of Las Palmas, as well as from the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) and the Spanish Association of Civil Guards (AEGC), they have conveyed their condolences to family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased. "Rest in peace, comrade," they say from the Civil Guard.
