A 29-year-old man, with the initials A.D.G and with "numerous police records", has been identified by the Civil Guard as the alleged perpetrator of offenses against road safety and threats against another driver, whom he ran off the road while driving his vehicle, after having previously threatened him.
The investigation began on September 29, when agents from the Traffic Detachment received a notice of a traffic accident that occurred on the LZ-1 road, at kilometer point 08.900, which consisted of a car leaving the road, which was quite damaged, and whose driver had to be evacuated to the Molina Orosa Hospital, being discharged hours later.
The first steps taken at the scene of the accident, in which the agents were able to speak with several witnesses, indicated that the affected car left the road after being expelled by another vehicle that was driving recklessly, which then fled the area. The car he was driving, according to the Civil Guard, was rented.
The agents of the Traffic Detachment requested the collaboration of the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police (ETPJ) of Costa Teguise, which began the necessary investigations to identify the driver of the rental vehicle in question. Thus, they say, they gathered "sufficient evidence to identify and later locate the alleged perpetrator of the events, a resident of the municipality of Arrecife who had also previously threatened the victim of the traffic accident in question."
The investigated party has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court, on guard duty, of the town of Arrecife.
