Canary Islands adds 166 infections in the last 24 hours, 120 of them in Tenerife

The accumulated incidence rises to 46.67 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days

The Canary Islands has added 166 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 120 have occurred in Tenerife, with the total accumulating in the islands currently at 21,750 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, while in the last day no new deaths have had to be mourned, with the number of deaths remaining at 341.

Thus, of the total cases that the Canary Islands has registered, 4,259 are active, which is 33 less than a day ago, according to the data published by the Canary Islands Ministry of Health after 2:00 p.m.

Currently, of the active cases in the islands, 45 people remain in an Intensive Care Unit (+6), 210 in hospital wards (+5) and 4,004 are isolated in their homes. Also, a total of 17,150 people have been discharged after contracting the coronavirus virus.

Regarding the accumulated incidence, in the Canary Islands it rises to 46.67 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days and to 86.33 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days

Regarding tests, in the Canary Islands a total of 596,262 tests have been carried out so far --3,184 in the last day--, of which 27,550 were positive, which represents 4.6 percent of the total.

By islands 

Regarding the cases of coronavirus by islands, Gran Canaria continues to lead in number of cases with 9,558 by adding 32 in the last 24 hours, of which 1,060 are active, while 128 people have died and 8,370 have overcome the disease.

Tenerife follows with 9,435 cases registered since the pandemic began (+120), of which 3,057 are active, 193 have died (+1) and 6,185 have been discharged.

After it is Lanzarote with 1,429 cases (+8), of which 66 are active, nine have perished and 1,355 people have overcome the disease.

Fuerteventura for its part remains with an accumulated of 925 cases (+4), of which 57 are active, four died and 864 were discharged; La Palma adds with 218 cases (+2), of which four are active, six died and 208 overcame the disease.

La Gomera closes the list accumulating 116 cases, of which 15 are active, 101 have been discharged and has not had to mourn deaths; while El Hierro has 69 cases, of which none are active, in addition to registering one death and 68 discharges.
