National Police agents have arrested a 25-year-old woman in Arrecife for defrauding 900 euros with the false rental of an apartment. The arrested woman also has a police record for similar acts.
The events were triggered after a woman reported that she had accessed a website for the sale and rental of properties, as she was interested in renting an apartment in the municipality of Arrecife.
After locating one that interested her, she contacted the advertiser, who telephonically requested an advance of 900 euros as a deposit to secure the reservation. Once the payment was made by bank transfer, the woman tried to contact the lessor repeatedly, always unsuccessfully.
Police investigations made it possible to determine that it was a fraudulent advertisement and that the alleged lessor already had a police record for similar acts. Once located in Lanzarote, she was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of fraud.
The corresponding police report was prepared and sent to the competent Judicial Authority.
