Arrested for stealing from 15 businesses in Teguise three weeks after being released from prison

The crimes were committed between May 2 and 5, and the arrested person had left the Tahíche prison on April 15 after serving a previous sentence.

The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested on May 7 a person with the initials J.M.O.H. - 41 years old, resident of Arrecife and with numerous police records - as the alleged perpetrator of a continued crime of robbery with force in things committed in Teguise. According to the Benemérita, the arrested person had left the Tahiche penitentiary center on April 15 after serving a previous sentence and is attributed a total of 15 robberies in businesses in the municipality.

The agents of the Investigation Area began the pertinent investigations as a result of the first robbery committed in a diving school in the town of Costa Teguise, receiving immediately news of more robberies committed in the same area and almost always in the same way. By fracturing the shop windows or windows of the businesses with a stone, the perpetrator of the damages accessed the establishment to steal the corresponding cash registers, amounting to 3,790 euros in cash, not counting the damages caused.

After the pertinent police procedures, supported also by the statements of several witnesses and the visualization and obtaining of the recordings of different security cameras of the affected businesses, the agents managed to identify the alleged perpetrator of the robberies - known by them due to his numerous police records - and arrest him on the 7th. The detainee and the police proceedings carried out have been presented this Friday to the corresponding Court in charge of guard duties in Arrecife.
