Totally dejected and with difficulty speaking due to medication, Diego P.V., Aitana's stepfather, gave his first words to the press this Wednesday, assuring that he has been treated "worse than a terrorist." But what has hurt him the most has not been that media lynching and the police treatment, but "having lost the girl because of a son of a bitch."
Diego offered his first words since he was accused of mistreatment and sexual abuse on the microphones of Canarias Radio La Autonómica, where he could barely be understood due to the medication he has been administered in the hospital where he is recovering from the enormous ordeal he has experienced in recent days.
When asked how he feels after the media lynching and the police treatment he has been a victim of, he acknowledges that he has been treated "worse than a terrorist" and acknowledges that the worst moment was when they showed him photos of the girl's corpse while accusing him of being a murderer who was going to rot in jail. "It will cost me a lot, a lot until it passes," he declared.
However, he says he feels comforted by the expressions of affection from people, especially from Parla, in Madrid, where the girl was buried, a burial that he could not attend, which has caused him sadness. Diego affirms that "they have a lot of affection for him" in this town in Madrid and they have made him feel that way.
Despite all the ordeal he has suffered, Diego assures that what has hurt him the most has been losing the girl, whom, despite not being his biological daughter, he loved very much, but, above all, having lost her "because of a son of a bitch," referring to the doctors who treated her and who did not detect the clot that ended Aitana's life.
It should be remembered that Diego's lawyer, Plácido Alonso Peña, has already announced lawsuits against the doctors for medical negligence.
