The Local Police of Teguise arrested a young foreigner, 32 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of several robberies in the tourist town of Costa Teguise.
The arrest, carried out this Wednesday and announced on Thursday, took place in the vicinity of a tourist complex located on Avenida de las Palmeras, when the man, identified by his initials M. C. B., attracted the attention of the police officers for maintaining "a suspicious attitude", as reported through a press release.
In addition, the detainee matched the description given by some witnesses about the protagonist of several recent robberies in hotels in the area. After his identification, and in collaboration with the Civil Guard, the Local Police of Teguise confirmed that some objects that the detainee was carrying were stolen, for which he was placed at the disposal of the police.
The town of Costa Teguise, as reported by this media outlet, had been the victim of a series of robberies since the beginning of the year, which have been decreasing as a greater police patrol is noticed in the area.
