A woman who tried to fly to France with a false identity was arrested in Guacimeta

The National Police have arrested a woman of 18 years of age and Nigerian nationality at the Lanzarote airport, for trying to take a flight to France identifying herself with a French identity card belonging to another person. Among her belongings, the agents located her Nigerian passport.

The events unfolded when employees of a handling company at the Lanzarote airport requested the police presence. The workers told the agents how a woman tried to take a flight to France, identifying herself with a French identity card that raised their suspicions. "The photograph on the document did not correspond to the physical characteristics of its carrier, so the police officers proceeded to identify her," the Police narrates in its statement.

A Nigerian passport was found among her belongings, which the young woman recognized as her "true identity", so the agents carried out her arrest. Once the corresponding report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents attached to the Arrecife Police Station.
