A woman is arrested in Arrecife for causing a fire in the building where she lives

National Police agents have arrested a 60-year-old woman in Arrecife, with a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of arson.

The events unfolded following a complaint from one of the owners and residents of a building located in the capital of Lanzarote, in which they stated that they had been having problems with one of the neighbors in the building and that, on the morning of last Sunday, she had caused a fire in the hallway, damaging an electric scooter and the stairwell.

Thanks to the quick action of the neighbors, they managed to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher.

The police officers who arrived at the scene were able to verify how the building's stairwell and an electric scooter had been damaged by the effect of the fire.

Therefore, the National Police agents proceeded to arrest the 60-year-old woman as the alleged perpetrator of arson.

After drawing up the corresponding police report, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
