A van has crashed into the guardrail on the access curve of the bypass to the airport highway this Thursday morning. According to La Voz, the driver was not injured.
After the accident, a traffic jam has formed on the road, due to the diversion of vehicles towards the Cabildo roundabout at the connection of the bypass (LZ-3) and the highway (LZ-2). Shortly after, it was closed by the Civil Guard to repair the damaged guardrail, according to the Cabildo of Lanzarote. "The Civil Guard has proceeded to close the entrance lane due to a traffic accident, given the high degree of danger that this entails," explains the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina.
In addition, the Cabildo asks drivers to "exercise caution" after the inconveniences that occurred this Thursday morning. The workers of Road Conservation of the Cabildo of Lanzarote are "already working" on the site to "repair the guardrail", and once the works are finished, the lane will be "reopened again."
The Cabildo of Lanzarote "deeply regrets the delays caused" by this lane closure.
